Webinar Series 2 -How to most effectively teach reproductive anatomy and menstrual cycle tracking
In March and April 2021, Eco Femme hosted a 4 part peer learning series titled: Menstrual education in rural communities - Expanding the conversation, widening our lens! This is the second recording in the series on the topic: How to most effectively convey concepts related to reproductive anatomy and menstrual cycle tracking This session had some really practical ideas relating to: - Negotiating the overlap between menstrual health and sex education - The importance of teaching menstrual cycle literacy and how to do this well - How to talk about sensitive topics like white discharge and why it is so important to do so This series was created to support menstrual health educators in building the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver effective menstrual educational sessions to women and girls in areas where learning is not accessed online - typically rural, tribal and low income settings. During this session Lauren and Kathy from Eco Femme were joined by a fabulous panel of experienced educators who had wonderful ideas and tips to share based on their extensive experience of doing this work in some really diverse and sometimes challenging settings.
