Listen To The Algorithm

YouTube says that the algorithm follows the audience. You always hear people on YouTube talking about the YouTube algorithm, and it's good to make sure that you're keeping that in mind.

But at the end of the day, how YouTube actually works is the algorithm follows the audience. What that means is once you have people start positively responding to what it is that you're doing that helps YouTube identify the content on your YouTube channel that has received that positive response, so that the system knows who to show your content to. The audience most likely is going to enjoy that content.

So with that in mind, you need to think about your video categories, for example if you love gardening, and you love music.

The likelihood of somebody that just finished watching your music video is also going to be watching the gardening video, or the person that just finished watching this gardening video is going to watch the fishing video is a very low percentage.

Now, if you have a bunch of gardening videos and a bunch of music videos and they're organized, like on your channel page and you're driving people to that and spreading awareness that they can find what it is that they're looking for on your channel then you can mix things up in that situation.

BUT!!! Something really awesome about YouTube is that if you do notice that your videos are taking off with the music, then that means that YouTube has identified the people that are enjoying that content.

So because of that, you should concentrate on music content and you should start doing music content all the time. You can always start another gardening channel.

Focus on making videos about fishing, if that's what the people are coming in there for.

People might be coming in just because they love your personality and that may be why they are subscribing.

At the end of the day, you have to make sure that you're putting out content on your YouTube channel that appeals to a certain demographic of people or a certain type of person, so that YouTube can accurately show your future content to more people like them, which sustains the rate that things are growing for your videos and your YouTube channel.
