It took a citizen's assembly to realize how critical our dependence on rainwater conservation is, and that at the rate we are pumping, the water table is rapidly diminishing. The Water Matters Mela is an attempt to put water as a high priority in the future development of Auroville, but also to celebrate our gratitude for its existence.
