This dialogue based filmmaking workshop is inspired from Dr. R D Laing’s gentle determination to unpeel layers of conditioning to arrive at the core of the crisis, the crisis of the heart. Dr. Laing, a renowned psychiatrist, known better as an artist with a curious combination of compassion and intensity… The dialogue scenarios from Laing's texts ‘Do you love me?’ and ‘Knots’ will be studied with reference to shot by shot analysis of Cassavetes’ film ‘A Woman Under the Influence’. The analysis, the reading and the referencing will form a fertile ground for one’s own unknotting through a dialogue exercise. Kamal, an experimental maverick, known for his idiosyncratic approach and his flair with unusual dialogues, is best oriented to apply analytical psychology to a dialogue based filmmaking exercise and assist filmmakers to make their own films!
