Auroville is an international township located in the south of India. It was founded in 1968 with the support of the Indian Government & UNESCO with the purpose of realizing human unity. The ideas of it’s founder Mirra Alfassa, and Sri Aurobindo, created the framework for the idea of a real human unity to be possible. This structure was strenghthened and fortified by the Indian Government after the founders passing with the Auroville Foundation Act 1988.
