Last Week in Buddha Garden November 21st - November 26th 2022
The rain has retreated but at this time of year we can never be sure that its finished. Which is why when we planted out our first tomato plants of this season we made sure the bed was covered just in case it rains again. Generally tomatoes don’t like rain and in the past I have lost plants when unexpected rains came just when we thought the monsoon was finished. We did a lot of planting this week including tande kirai seed (a sort of spinach) and a lot of marigolds. Marigolds help to keep off the pests, especially the soil pests that bother tomatoes. We also of course continued doing all the regular jobs like weeding, composting and watering and making new liquid fertiliser.
