Last Week in Buddha Garden May 1st - May 6th 2023
In the middle of the hot season we don’t expect rain, but that’s what we got this week. The first rain was just a heavy shower but the very next day we had serious monsoon rain. This came from the South West Monsoon clouds which came from the other side of India in Kerala. We didn’t waste the opportunity to dig in the softened soil a water channel. Needed to take the overflow water from the new outside washing area for our microgreens. We cleared space around the channel so we could plant bananas that will help suck up some of the water. With the help of two volunteers, we turned some of our old mosquito nets into plant covers to keep off the insect pests until the plants are large enough to do it themselves. With the rain its been a wonderful week for all the work we do on the vegetable beds, especially the planting and weeding.
